Nearly 10 years ago, Omnipoint Wireless passed on this idea for a live, electronic billboard. Its purpose was to bring attention to the new digital text features within their GSM phones. This was before 'text messaging' or 'user generated content' were in the vernacular. The point to this anecdote is that a couple months ago, colleagues at SS+K pulled off a 2.0 version of the idea, only this time with color, cartoons, satirical context and a projector. Their client CREDO Mobile is not only brave, they are noble, giving 1% of their phone charges to non-profits groups.
