According to Floppyhead, not a single Mac computer complies to Energy Star standards. I can attest to this, because global warming is happening right in my lap as I write this on my Powerbook. On a related note, Blackle takes up less energy for Google searches. Mac users can hit 'Control, Option, Apple and 8' for the same effect.

8/22 UPDATE: A woman received a 300 page bill for her iPhone. Three hundred! It arrived in a box. Sounds more like an AT+T problem, but still, that's just plain crazy. Watch it here.

If you want to save energy on an LCD Monitor don't use blackle or change your background. LCD monitors take more energy to display black.
